Shivangi Joshi has garnered a massive fan base with her remarkable performances in television shows. While her rise to fame is commendable, her journey was not without its struggles.
In an interview” Shivangi Joshi shared insights into how she unexpectedly became an actress, despite initially planning to pursue a full-time career in choreography. She also discussed an early setback when she missed out on an opportunity due to confusion during a screen test for “Junior Shaktimaan.”
When asked if anyone ever tried to exploit her innocence, given her small-town background, the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star revealed a disheartening experience. She recalled being called to Mumbai for an audition and then sent back without being informed of the outcome. It was only later that she discovered she had actually landed the role.
Shivangi shared, “I used to perform Kathak and represent my state, Uttarakhand. During one performance, the judges approached my mother, saying, ‘Your daughter is very pretty, and we’re launching a TV show.’ They then invited us to Mumbai for a screen test.”
In the interview, the 26-year-old actress recounted her journey to Mumbai to audition for a show called Anamika, but instead, she was asked to screen test for Junior Shaktimaan at Mukesh Khanna’s office. Unfortunately, the casting team lost touch with her and only informed her of her selection after she had returned to her hometown.
Shivangi, who recently starred in Ektaa Kapoor’s Barsatein: Mausam Pyaar Ka opposite rumored boyfriend Kushal Tandon, reflected on how this incident affected her life. Her schoolmates began assuming she would become an actress, and when the show didn’t materialize, they started teasing her. This experience motivated her to seriously pursue acting and prove herself.
The Begusarai actress confessed that she had never considered acting before this opportunity arose. Her true dream was to open her own dance academy after becoming a choreographer.
