While many were joyfully celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, singer Rahul Vaidya and his wife, actress Disha Parmar, found their festive mood dampened by illness. Rahul, known for his soulful voice and current appearance on Laughter Chefs, revealed on social media that both he and Disha have been diagnosed with dengue fever. Rahul had been suffering from a high fever of 104°F, and now Disha has also caught the illness.

Taking to Instagram, Rahul shared the unfortunate news, posting a note that read, “Wasn’t it enough for me to have dengue ki Disha ko bhi ho gaya”. Disha re-shared the note on her account, playfully captioning it, “Together forever.” She also posted a selfie with the caption, “Welcome to the sick club!” as both cope with their health challenges.

Earlier, Rahul had shared an image of himself on his Instagram story, lying down with cold wipes on his forehead to combat the high fever. He later posted another story simply captioned, “Dengue!” His diagnosis came during the auspicious Ganesh Chaturthi festival, forcing the couple to cancel their celebration plans.

Before falling ill, Rahul had expressed his excitement for Ganesh Chaturthi while speaking to the media on the sets of Laughter Chefs. He shared his joy, saying, “Iss baar aur dhoom dhaam se manayenge kyunki Bappa ki wajah se hi mere ghar par beti aayi hai or beti ki wajah se bahut achhe din aaye hai, achha bhagya aaya hai. I really can’t wait! Ganapati Bappa jaldi se aaye or humare ghar par aaye.” (This time, we will celebrate with even more enthusiasm because Bappa blessed us with a daughter. She has brought good fortune into our lives, and I can’t wait for Ganapati Bappa to come visit our home.)

For those who may not know, Rahul Vaidya and Disha Parmar welcomed their baby girl during last year’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, making the festival especially meaningful for the couple.

On the professional front, Disha was last seen playing Priya in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 3, alongside Nakuul Mehta.
